THISTLE FARMS
Thistle Farms, founded in 1997 by Rev. Becca Stevens—with invaluable volunteer support and generous funding by many St. Augustine's parishioners—is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to empowering women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction.
Thistle Farms includes a Nashville-based, two-year residential program, Magdalene, which provides housing, medical care, therapy, education, and job training free of charge for up to 32 women and advocacy and referral services for hundreds more. Many residents and graduates are employed by Thistle Farms' diverse social enterprise, which includes a natural body and home product company, The Café at Thistle Farms, The Shop at Thistle Farms, and Thistle Farms Global.
From the beginning, St. Augustine's congregants have volunteered time, talent, and resources to alleviate program expenses and support growth, to build community with women survivors and their families, and to declare that love heals. Volunteer, advocacy, and education opportunities continue.
