9:30AM Holy Eucharist at Benton Chapel with Francisco Garcia preaching
411 21st Ave S, Nashville, TN 37212
Join us as we observe the Sunday before Labor Day in faithful word and action!
Rev. Francisco will engage in a sermon conversation on the dignity of labor from our sacred scriptures and our broader Christian faith tradition with Vonda McDaniel, President of the Central Labor Council of Nashville and Middle Tennessee and active lay leader at First Baptist Church Capitol Hill, a church with historic ties to the Nashville student movement and the larger civil rights movement. You can read more about Vonda and the important work of the Central Labor Council here.
To read further reflections on faith, scripture, and labor, check out this series from Francisco and his colleagues at the Wendland-Cook Program in Religion and Justice at Vanderbilt Divinity School.
